Friends of Mira know her as the firebrand activist. A soft-spoken, melodious voice she possesses, a pretty face she possesses, BUT NOT A GUN DOES SHE POSSESS, as alleged by the police and military.
Mira is living the life student activists from UP thought they would be living. If we had followed
through with our pledges to serve the people at the masa level, be one of them, organise them, sacrifice for them, we could have been in the situation Mira is in right now.
We who are watching the developments from the sidelines are now being called to support one of our own. Actively suport the movement to free Mira et al.
Kill the Inquirer.net’s amazon/NPA fighters story. Mira et al are not NPA fighters, not combatants. They are mass organizers, leaders speaking for those who could not speak for themselves. Write and speak to people you know who are involved with the news one way or another. Get them to see this side of Mira. And get them to realize FILIPINOS SHOULD NOT BE IMPRISONED OR TORTURED FOR SPEAKING OUT AGAINST INJUSTICE AND POVERTY!
